ABC13:
“ It's possible we could have lows below freezing until the weekend. In fact, we are eying the possibility of a second wave of low pressure arriving next Thursday or Friday that could bring another round of frozen precipitation.”

0z ICON shows over 6 inches of snow still in parts of SE/East Texas. Around 8 inches in Louisiana. Potential is very high still.
This has the potential to be an all-time historic winter event. Pray the power grid holds.

Can anyone pull up the map with estimated snowfall amounts? Appears to be 8-10 inches for Houston.
The 540 line is also further south on the 0z GFS. That’s big right there.
Yes, thank you. Alot of us are just here for the insight to get prepared. Is this a day, or the 2 day event or possible week long event? I'm not trying to be a pain. Just trying to plan it out.m because of jobs and schools and temperatures
and all of that. Thanks.
and all of that. Thanks.
Could be an all week event. For sure Monday through Wednesday, but there’s a possibility of another system Thursday or Friday of next week as well. I’m thinking the first half of Monday should be fine though.jabcwb2 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:16 pm Yes, thank you. Alot of us are just here for the insight to get prepared. All of the models are still in agreement tonight that a big snow storm is coming for S. E. Texas. If this becomes a reality is will be the biggest snow I've ever seen for our area.

ABC13 up to 60% for “likely” snow on Tuesday. This could be the most snow anyone alive has ever seen fall in Houston. The most since the late 1800s.

There’s a reason why I’ve been mentioning 1895. There’s some similarities.txsnowmaker wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:27 pm ABC13 up to 60% for “likely” snow on Tuesday. This could be the most snow anyone alive has ever seen fall in Houston. The most since the late 1800s.

You should see what the CMC does east of here. Georgia and the Carolinas get close to two feet of snow. LOL
