We missed out yesterday, but have a 50-50% shot today. Let's keep those sprinklers off!
The high yesterday was 84°. Yesterday evening had the slightest hint of fall in the air. Today may not reach 90° either. The long-term outlook calls for another shot at rain late in the week.
Beryl aside (and hopefully no more storms this year, though I’m afraid that’s a long shot), this Summer has been very pleasant, apart from the 2 week stretch end of June.
Still plenty of tree debris to take care of in my vicinity. Streets in my residence were flooded as a bayou/waterway was overtopped a bit — thankfully, that all receded by Tuesday.
At one point, the only area with any power during the week was an area of HWY 6 with a Home Depot and Church's Chicken.

It just cant get any better than that!
I definitely would like to see what influences the presence/location of the ridge. Which factors influence the positions pertaining to overall better summers (like this one so far), in contrast to bad summers (like the previous two)?
It's official. The wife and I will be relocating to the north side of Austin over the next month, likely to the Georgetown area. Gave official word of mouth to the new boss on Friday and will sign the papers Monday or Tuesday.
Will be trading super humidity for drier, but also trading hurricanes and swampy gumbo yards for rocks, rattlesnakes, and the occasional bad hailstorm.

Good deal...I'm sure the forum hopes everything works out for you and your new position. And don't forget about the occasional ice storm and heavy rain event up there every 5 to 7 years.
