Interesting. I’ve heard conditions could improve for her between now and the Yucatan.

The 12z ICON would be a MAJOR issue for us here in SETX. Yikes!

In that situation, dirty side of a recurving storm, lots of rain, spin up tornadoes.

That 12z Icon run would be devastating to the Houston/Galveston area.

Where does it have the storm making landfall? I thought it was closer to Corpus? If it’s closer to Corpus, how would that be devastating for Houston and Galveston?

Thanks!

Yes it makes landfall in Corpus then it turns due north and then nne.

The 12z ICON had a landfall around Seadrift or Port O’Connor as a cat 3 or 4, and then goes right through Wharton County and goes NNE from there. It puts basically all of SETX on the dirty side of the storm. Would be a huge problem for us.

Rides the coast basically? That would absolutely be devastating.

It rides the coast from Port Isabel and then goes into San Antonio Bay around Seadrift/Port O’Connor.

ICON being ICON...folks have been sleeping on in. Beryl is only going to clip the tip of the Yucatan. She's been slowing down a little.

I've been saying this for 2 days on the eastward movement of the ridge. Pretend it's late August, and the story is written.
