we got flurries, we got flurries lol
I love big rains any time of the year but this summer I don’t see us having a big drought. The Gulf will be open for big business. As for wintry weather, I could see us getting some action later this month or Feb if the above normal precipitation anomalies persist.
Love the active weather pattern, we're moving on from winty mischief right into widespread rain. Love to see it.
Hopefully, we'll have another opportunity of frozen precip also.

Road and bridge closures have begun in Beaumont due to icing over from the mist and rain. Now urging everyone to stay off the roads in Jefferson county.

Sun shining and got down to 16 here in Cypress.
So now that this event is done with and we stay in the blast chiller for one more 24 hour cycle, how are things shaping up with the upcoming rain and potential for more cold?
Looks like things are going to get very active in Texas.Starting next week,as a low gets cutoff and blocked by a strong SE ridge.

17.4 this am.
I find it amusing Tampa is supposed to hit 40 and that warrants a wind chill advisory from the Ruskin NWS office.

He does a really good job of the upcoming pattern.
Understand he is from Arkansas but when discussing the pattern it doesn't matter where one is from.

16°F last night. It's a beautiful day. Brilliant sunshine and 23°F. Sublimation and sun have largely taken care of the snow and ice. I just saw a truck driving with icicles hanging down from the chassis.

Mets have to be on their toes in Arkansas. Storms and tornadoes formed in Oklahoma invade at night. Ice storms are more frequent and variation in the weather is the norm. With hilly terrain and modest sized mountains in nearly half the state rain that can come in a deluge, floods are common as well. Real winter weather come crashing down on areas of the state every year.
Props to our local Mets at KBTX. Their merging of the models was by far the most accurate. They stuck to a wintry mix on Sunday night and Monday, and somewhere between the Euro, NAM, and CMC on temps, predicting teens at night well before the event.
