Wibds picked up quite a bit here in Orange but temp still holding around 50
Must have been the wind that caused your brief power outage?
21°F and still tanking. TG no power outages. Fortunately, no ice on the power lines.
NNW 22 G36 we should be able to handle it - fingers crossed.

All this wasted cold.
21 already? Wow. This is one powerful front.
@sambucol - yeah, I think a tree hit something but they re-routed after about 15 mins. Supposedly there is a lot of redundancy in the system now but that is a domain I don’t know much about.
Yeah, trees can be a problem in this wind. It's a good thing the trees are shorter in College Station than the Houston area.
Tons of trees where you live so that doesn’t surprise me lol
Down to 29°F here already wow.
Check it out...
Also, 30 here already!

That’s why snow down here is so hard. It takes it all to come together.
On a side note, no such thing as wasted cold. This state sucks, weather wise, 6 months out of the year.

This will likely be the 3rd coldest night in CLL in 30 years and the coldest without snow cover.Ptarmigan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 7:32 pmCold blasts like this one are rare.MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 7:15 pm That’s why snow down here is so hard. It takes it all to come together.

5°F - 2021
9°F - 2021
14°F - about 2016? I'd have to look it up. Nights below 20°F in CLL are Rare, indeed. It's often a couple of degrees colder in Conroe and MoCo than here.
I’ve seen Conroe 10°F colder than places just a few miles from there lol it’s wild!DoctorMu wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 7:35 pmThis will likely be the 3rd coldest night in CLL in 30 years and the coldest without snow cover.Ptarmigan wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 7:32 pmCold blasts like this one are rare.MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 7:15 pm That’s why snow down here is so hard. So, the isobars will tell you were the cold air went first.
Then the wrap-around from Eliott's bombogenesis or whatever the **** TWC is calling it will pull the cold air into Kentucky...
