Khou has highs in the 40s next weekend..that's gotta be wrong
They gotta play it safe this far out and stay as close to climo as they can. Forecasts by Tuesday/Wednesday will be different.brazoriatx wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 7:15 pm Khou has highs in the 40s next weekend..that's gotta be wrong
I think it will change.brazoriatx wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 7:15 pm Khou has highs in the 40s next weekend..that's gotta be wrong
The cold is way overperforming already in CLL.vci_guy2003 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 3:55 pm They can’t even get today’s weather correctly. We are screwed next week.
-40s in the Yukon.
NWS released a weather statement for CLL re: the arctic front. The NWS high for Friday is now progged at 29°F and that is probably being generous. I'll go with a High = 26°F and Low of 11°F, but single digits are possible with a wind chill that is subzero.
It will be Monday or Tuesday before we know more about precip and wintry mischief.

As you might suspect, the 18z GFS has trended westward ho! with the cold air. Way in the 1060s for peak high pressure. Really tight gradient. The winds will be howling.

Give me 3 mornings in the single digits/teens and highs in the 20z and I’ll be happy

The closest were there are single digit lows and highs in 20s would be in February 1899, January 1930, and December 1989.MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 8:43 pm Give me 3 mornings in the single digits/teens and highs in the 20z and I’ll be happy

Lol, I hope that happens.
The NE dweebs have been in a circle jerk about this storm. It would warm my heart to see us get more than them.

CMC nailed the Feb 21 winter storm. 3.5 days below freezing.
Feb 15: Hi 20 Lo 9
Feb 16 : Hi 27 Lo 5
I’m wondering how many hours we will be below freezing in the Houston area.
Imagine if we got some snow and cranked up the albedo...
