They gotta play it safe this far out and stay as close to climo as they can. Forecasts by Tuesday/Wednesday will be different.

NWS released a weather statement for CLL re: the arctic front. The NWS high for Friday is now progged at 29°F and that is probably being generous. I'll go with a High = 26°F and Low of 11°F, but single digits are possible with a wind chill that is subzero.

It will be Monday or Tuesday before we know more about precip and wintry mischief.

As you might suspect, the 18z GFS has trended westward ho! with the cold air. Way in the 1060s for peak high pressure. Really tight gradient. The winds will be howling.

The closest were there are single digit lows and highs in 20s would be in February 1899, January 1930, and December 1989.

Lol, I hope that happens.

The NE dweebs have been in a circle jerk about this storm. It would warm my heart to see us get more than them.

CMC nailed the Feb 21 winter storm. 3.5 days below freezing.

Feb 15: Hi 20 Lo 9
