I am hoping to get a garden tilled and planted for spring........this is a tough year to plan based on normal planting times!
What is RECON sampling that is so important so far from land? Always wondered that.
Currently I am in the low 50's here with some serious gusts. More through dry though which is fine by me. My yard is starting to mold.
Will be joining the night crew for the 12z GFS run. Really concerned about the next shot of cold air.

Can you explain why you are really concerned Paul?Paul wrote:What is RECON sampling that is so important so far from land? Always wondered that.

sleet?redneckweather wrote:Wow, it is coming down good now!!!!
There were a few sleet pellets with the light rain showers that passed through a minute ago... Definitely suprised the hell out of me...
HGX did mention the possibility of some flurries across northern counties tonight. Anyone up there should keep an eye to the sky for a suprise.

Some 'brighter' radar returns now showing to the W in Austin/Waller Counties as well as those in Montgomery County. Perhaps vbhoutex and I may see some sleet mixed in as well.

Man, I just got home from work and the sleet was really coming down on I-45 at Woodlands Parkway! When I walked out of work, you could see the sleet bouncing all over the car and hear it hitting the trees and bushes. Very cool
NO rain here in Pearland...just some crazy wind. Hit a gust in the upper 30's.
GFS out 252hr which is pretty much la la land shows a more zonal pattern. Nothing to speak of in the way of cold air coming down between now and a week from now.

You guys should report the sleet to HGX via webmaster. I bet they don't have any idea.
Yep, it's sleeting like crazy here in Spring near Splash Town! NWS says 44 degrees here but I don't believe it.harpman wrote:I'm curious, what's the surface temp there?srainhoutx wrote:Moderate sleet in NW Harris County at this time.
