Never been impressed with frank
So any activities in the evening time there should be no risk of icy commutes correct? Seems like 40ish degree Temps should thaw us out.
Getting into range with the RAP. It also shows the beginning formation of frozen precip some of the models show developing Thursday night.

Man talk about some consistency in the models, well most of them at least
1/2 inch of ice around CLL...I did recommend folks bring their iceskates on Thursday!jasons2k wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 4:58 pm He showed this map but then just practically glossed over it and said "it's not out of the question that we could see some glazing in spots." Really downplayed the whole event.
If that map verified, that would be pretty bad news in those shaded areas. Those are some hefty accumulations in places. 1/2 - 3/4" of ice on those pine trees would be a lot more trouble than 'some glazing in spots'...

It's going to be a rink up here, potentially.

Its moving east.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 6:10 pmIs that going to be moving off towards the north or to the east towards the coast?
My TWC app has me down for a 40% chance of light freezing rain Thursday night/Friday morning with a low of 25°F.
The trends have been interesting today, but i would like to see the 0Z runs and 12Z runs tomorrow morning, before completely buying it.As those runs should have sampled storm data.
Mid February is looking pretty good right now for more Artic air.

Ya it's becoming clear that we may have some ice around here even to the coast
It’s looking like the majority of southeast Texas will be at or below freezing by the late afternoon/early evening timeframe on Thursday.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 6:53 pm Ya it's becoming clear that we may have some ice around here even to the coast

...and overperforming is the M.O. for shallow arctic air this time of year.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 6:55 pmIt’s looking like the majority of southeast Texas will be at or below freezing by the late afternoon/early evening on Thursday.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 6:53 pm Ya it's becoming clear that we may have some ice around here even to the coast
