I would say it possible..maybe an advisoryStratton20 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 4:31 pm Don if these trends continue is it possible we could be put under some sort of watch?
Possible but there will need to be a lot more support first before they do that.We will know a lot more once the system is sampled and we get into the better range of mesoscale models. I wouldn't let my guard down on this one until then, especially for the far northwest counties.
Look what HGX added to the forecast grids in College Station...

Yeah and there’s still plenty of time for it to trend even further south. Remember global models tend to underestimate the strength and speed of these Artic airmasses.

Wow thats definitely a significant shift south, at least to me, only 3.5 days out so I am surprised they have shifted even further south

Given that the GFS version does very well with these colossal Arctic intrusions, I follow its advice in establishing the southern rim of an ice event along the northern rim of the suburbs of San Antonio and Houston in Texas.

They need to stay north. I've got $300 worth of concert tickets for Friday night at the Toyota Center that I would like to attend.

The first couple weeks of February look to have below average temps with above average precipitation. We’ll see if we can cash in.
