I believe this one has a much greater chance at getting further west than Fred.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 10:54 am 95l looks to be heading the same direction as Fred..maybe it's FL yr to get all of them lol
August 2021: Major Hurricane Ida/SE Louisiana Landfall
Yep, what has me a little more concerned about 95L is the upper level 500mb pattern, models are showing. With ridging over the east and a trough over the northwest. If 95l does get into the gulf that could allow it to head towards the northwestern gulf.Still a long ways out though and things are likely to change.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 11:03 amI believe this one has a much greater chance at getting further west than Fred.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 10:54 am 95l looks to be heading the same direction as Fred..maybe it's FL yr to get all of them lol

13 days out but this is about as strong as a signal as you’re gonna get:

Too far out to be taken seriously right now but definitely something to watch.

95L has my attention.

I'll watch it once it gets a little closer
I usually start following these storms when they’re in central Africa but I’m a huge weather nut so yeah lol I remember following Harvey 2 weeks before he even got here.

I am very surprised st the fact that we havent see any home grown storms, accept for the one in June, nothing in the BOC or western caribbean but we have an active phase of the MJO in the atlantic right now so im just puzzled that we havent see any distubances form in the GOM or W. Caribbean instead of coming from the deep atlantic

Many of us here on this board share Stratton's point of view. Majority of us on here are big weather enthusiasts and get excited by big weather events. I don’t think any of us want anyone’s property to get damaged or anyone to get hurt by the weather but unfortunately that’s what happens sometimes.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 2:55 pmTrack all you want...but I get tired of rebuilding my house everytime a storm comesStratton20 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 2:41 pm Kingwood36 thats your opinion, I personally get excited tracking atorms in the gulf, of course I dont want anyone to get hit, but its just something that intrigues me

Kingwood36 yep I hate the destruction that the storms/hurricanes can do but yet just seeing one in the gulf just looks so fascinating, speaking of weather, this heat absolutely sucks right now
I don’t mind minimal hurricanes or tropical storms but anything that has winds over 100mph can go elsewhere.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:19 pmI'm fine with that..I get it..the excitement and all...just as long as it goes somewhere else I'm cool with it lolCpv17 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 3:16 pmMany of us here on this board share Stratton's point of view. CPV17 I could use a weak tropical storm right now, this heat is unbearable
Trend the last few days with 95l has been N with the operational Euro and GFS. Weak reflection on the GFS with a high line through the Caribbean and running the gauntlet across the Greater Antilles so it isn't that surprising that there is limited development with favorable conditions. Both set of ensembles have something similar with a high line track instead of a classic cruiser.
Fred could create a small weakness which may be the reason in the long range there is a slight turn towards the east coast or eastern gulf....

Scott747 its way too early to tell that, until 95L gets into or just past the leeward Islands Im not really focusing on what the models are saying especially since a center hasnt formed
Way to early to show what?Stratton20 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 4:24 pm Scott747 its way too early to tell that, until 95L gets into or just past the leeward Islands Im not really focusing on what the models are saying especially since a center hasnt formed
Your problem is that you want the models to show what you want to see and cant be objective which is a detriment to the board.
I'm only analyzing what they are currently showing...

Scott747 jesus christ dude I wasnt attacking you... I was simply stating that its too early to know where 95L will track, there are alot of questions that remain to be answered with this system, you really need to calm down
