Street flooding occuring on Galveston Island, in particular, streets south of Broadway.

Heavy downpours in Galveston and Bolivar earlier with frequent lightning. Lots of storms along the coast streaming north and east along the Uppper/Middle Coast.

I got a 1/2 inch on the east end of Galveston. I know officially it was closer to 2 inches. I feel for everyone in Houston dealing with the ongoing flooding.

Rain beginning to fall in Galveston. Concerned that the high tides will aggivate possible flooding.

Was outside in Galveston when the fromt blew through. Wind shifted and the temp dropped almost immediately. A few rounds of heavy rain and thunder, but it has stopped for the moment. It's 56 now. down from about 75 a couple hours ago.

I feel you Biggie on having a weekend rained on. However, if this flood event happened on a weekday, more people would have been on the roads, hence a greater potiential for stranded vehicles and water rescues. Had heavy shower in Galvesston around 5pm. Some ponding on Broadway and Seawall Boulevard. A few surfers were out (not a good idea). Light to moderate rain is occuring now. Concerned about the possible 9-12 inches along the coast. Plan to up awhile. Keep the coffee hot and strong.

At this point, I'm not worried about a wind event. I am concerned about heavy rainfall fron a slow moving systen, whether organized or not. This morning's round of rain caused some street flooding in Galveston.

Somewhat concerned about that huge band of rain offshore. It looks poised to march up I-45 from Galveston toward points north.
