There are a lot of boots on the ground, but it does take time. After Hurricane Ike, some parts of Galveston didn't have power restored fo...

Re: 2016 Hurricane Outlook/Preparedness Information

Srain, I appreciate your insights about the coming season. I'm curious as to the likelihood of a Pacific system crossing over and rapidly intensifying in the BOC in a La Nina season.

Re: April 2016 - Cut Off Upper Low/Trough/Flood Emergency

Kudos to KHOU for its extended coverage, especially the weather team. Kudos also to the Board members and our Moderators and Experts.

I got a 1/2 inch on the east end of Galveston. I know officially it was closer to 2 inches. I feel for everyone in Houston dealing with the ongoing flooding.

Re: November 2015 Weather Watching

I feel you Biggie on having a weekend rained on. However, if this flood event happened on a weekday, more people would have been on the roads, hence a greater potiential for stranded vehicles and water rescues. Several schools in La Porte were damaged; fortunately, school was out for the weekend. I ...

Re: October 2015 - Dry Early Week/Wet/Stormy Halloween

The wind has slacked off a bit in Galveston with clouds and sun.

That low looks pretty good scooting off to the east. Curious, any chance if it getting to the Atlantic and blowing up?

Re: September 2015: Wet & Unsettled Pattern Returns

At this point, I'm not worried about a wind event. I am concerned about heavy rainfall fron a slow moving systen, whether organized or not. This on top of whatever rainfall SE gets in the next few days. Rapid intensifiaction ala Alicia or Humberto is in the back of my mind; the Gulf is rather toasty...

Re: JUNE 2015 -Tracking Tropical Depression Bill

Somewhat concerned about that huge band of rain offshore. It looks poised to march up I-45 from Galveston toward points north.

Slightly off topic: I'm back!(SFX of crickets chirping) Thanks Strain and Texaspirate for the help!
