Re: September Weather Discussion: this year's Autumn in Texa
What a bizarre storm. It seems to be regenerating some after the initial cell collapsed. We had some lightning up here and now some light rain, but mostly strong gusty winds. So you got some light rain out of it huh? Luck you. :D Some - but mostly just globs of mud. Looked at the windshield this mo...

Re: Love Bugs??
We drove to Birmingham last weekend and drove along I-10 until we got to I-15 in Slidell. We ran into the love bug as we neared Beaumont. They were so heavy in Orange there were vehicles everywhere covered in them. By the time we got to about Lake Charles they were all gone. Strange that they were j...

Re: August’s heat in Houston was a 1-in-10,000-year event
Seriously? That's just insane. None of us have ever seen anything like it. We've seen 100-year freezes and even 500-year floods...but never a 10,000-year event - ever, for anything.

Re: September Weather Discussion: this year's Autumn in Texa
Just read the latest from Jeff (re: lightning and dry downbursts out west). I'm resigned to the fact that we literally live in hell now. No other way to put it.

Re: September Weather Discussion
I see the boundary. It's not moving yet (good) but it's still a good 3-5 miles just south of my house (bad).

Re: September Weather Discussion
We just can't catch a break to save us. Yesterday all the precip was along and north of the front. I was hoping today would be the same (since front is now south of us), but Noooooooooooo!! No rain for you: From HGX: BEST INSTABILITY AND CONVERGENCE TODAY SHOULD BE ALONG AND WEST OF THE BOUNDARY WHE...

Re: September Weather Discussion
I'm resigned to "I'll believe it'll rain again when I see rain outside the window"
The lead-up to Lee (before it was Lee) and promises of copious rains - finally - and then nothing - just about killed me.

While that very well could come to fruition I remember a certain person that did that a couple years back and we received Ike.

Re: Troipcal Storm Lee: S of Louisiana
The 12Z Euro suggests Lee will meander S of Lafayette/Vermillion Bay while slowly strengthening and finally head inland near hour 120, for what it's worth. I still think there may be a chance that the models are wrong and Lee will be shunted off to the SW after spending all that time along the Nort...

Re: TD 13 Western/Central Gulf of Mexico
I am still holding out hope!!! At least a cold front is coming. I can say this. With the High Pressure Ridge of Death going away, that will open the Gulf to moisture to move our way. That means, we will have many more chances of what the Elders call rain. This is a beginning, not an ending. I would...

I'm done with TD 13. Time to get the grill, beer, pool, and sunscreen ready for the weekend.....after I go puke.

Re: INVEST 93L: Likely Labor Day Gulf Storm!
The trends today are *extremely* disheartening. I don't think the absolute final nail is in the coffin for us, but the hammer is tapping it in.

Re: Ron Paul's Chance of Rain Definition Wrong?
In either event, the correct way to interpret the forecast is: there is a 40 percent chance that rain will occur at any given point in the area. http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ffc/?n=pop Exactly . Just as I had thought. Somebody needs to tell David as he just gave the wrong definition to an awful lot of H...
