Re: March 2023
Got 30 minutes of rain without any hail or wind damage, so today was pretty good to me.

Re: March 2023
For any night owls, that lone storm that produced softball-sized hail near Dilley has held together as it sped east and the core seems to have intensified just now near Cuero. Warned with golf ball hail now. On track to hit Sugar Land in about 3 hours. Edit: Make that sometime in the 4am hour for Su...

Re: January 2023
Looks like at least an 18-mile damage path for this tornado, from Beamer Place apartments/Beverly Hills Intermediate School (west of Beltway 8 & I-45) all the way to W. Cedar Bayou-Lynchburg Rd in Baytown (southwest of the Baytown mall). May trace back further southwest to Southbluff near Blackh...

Re: January 2023
Channel 13 coverage sucks, they're losing every live shot because apparently they cheaped out and are only relying on local cell service, unlike 11 and 2. Maybe should upgrade back to sat trucks instead of Cricket.

Re: January 2023
So far on Twitter I've seen a nursing home with major damage off Center St. in Deer Park, houses with missing or heavily damaged roofs in Sagemont, southern Pasadena, and Deer Park, at least one of those cheaply built metal shack industrial businesses (reportedly unoccupied) flattened in the Fairmon...

Wow, pretty far west for activity, though not far from where the 5% level starts.

Re: November 2022
KHOU is very deservedly catching absolute hell this afternoon for interrupting the dramatic ending of an NFL game for a tornado warning and refusing to keep the game video on in the corner of a split screen. Of course there has to be an interruption for a tornado warning, but there's zero excuse for...

Re: September 2022
I'm afraid that one is eventually going to be very bad news for somewhere in the US, and can't rule out a very unusual end of Sept/Oct Texas hit.

Re: September 2022
We have dealt with hurricanes on the Texas coast up to mid-October, though certainly many more hit in September. Yeah, that's why I specified, "major hurricane". I'm mainly concerned with hurricanes strong enough and close enough to do major wind damage in Houston (since the flood risk is...

Re: September 2022
I just want to hurry up and get the next 2 weeks past us. Traditional/old wives tale is that Houston's risk for major hurricanes basically ends after mid-September. I don't know the exact reasons, "The cool fronts start to make it through" is the claim I usually heard the most. A quick sea...

Re: March 2022
Given that Waller (and Harris) County is excluded from the tor watches and the angle of movement, it looks like the NWS isn't too worried about tornadoes in the Houston metro south of say Lake Conroe. Though it's possible that could change.
