It is dirt in my backyard. I have given up. I mean come on, why? My front yard is gone. Just gone. The sign that the Four Horseman (great song by Metallica, by the way) are here. Our neighbor across the street has built in sprinklers. They water twice a day. The yard is turning brown. Goodbye Summer. We officially (well not Wxman 57, he is loving this) hate you.

Let's hope the rain northeast of Houston holds up and gives us rain. 8-)

Things start to spontaneously combust. Need cans of RAID and RAID fumigator to kill the Cockroach Ridge giving us heat and drought.

Not a good time for the Houston-Galveston NWS to offline as a massive outflow boundary enters SE TX.

Hmmm! If you live east of Harris and Montgomery Counties, look out. The rest of us, well it looks like some folks are going to get wet.

I'm watching the outflow boundary push south; it is almost here. You can see a pattern of storms firing along the outflow, then they quickly die-off and another line forms to it south. You can see an old lone in Walker County dying-off and a new one firing to its south near Conroe. In-between is a gap of no rain. Judging by the pattern, the line to my north is about to fall apart and a new one will form just to my south near the airport/2920/etc.

Sounds about right...

Just received a massive storm over College Station. Had gusts prob around 40-50 (or more) and lightning striking everywhere. Very impressive to see and a long time coming too. Haven't seen a storm like this in many years.

Man, the storm came within an inch of my house....lightning and thunder to the immediate west....and then it actually made a blank horseshoe around us. Maybe two drops of rain. Can't believe it. I see this happen all the time..like there's a special branch of the Cockroach Ridge right over 45. *sigh*

In other news......does anyone know the rules about Heat Advisories and schools? I know that at our current heat the kids can be out for 30 minutes, but what about tomorrow or Friday when it's, what, 109? Our PE teacher is not too concerned.

Where along 529? I'm just south of 529, along Fry Rd and it was pretty rough over here for a bit.
