I received an e-mail from our friends at ImpactWeather and wanted to share it with our local folks:

As in 2010, ImpactWeather will again conduct a series of informational webinars regarding the Atlantic hurricane season, presented by ImpactWeather Lead Hurricane Meteorologist Chris Hebert. Each month, we will update you on the current trends and what we expect over the next month as well as through the remainder of the season.

The first of these brief, 20-minute updates will occur next Tuesday, June 7th at 2:00 pm CDT. There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the webinar and please feel free to reply to this email with any questions if you would like to submit them in advance. There is no cost to attend. Please register today and feel free to forward this invitation to anybody you feel might be interested in attending. If you are not available next Tuesday afternoon, please go ahead and register so that you’ll receive the follow-up email with a link to where the recorded version of the webinar is located.

Very informative webinar today. Key points are we in the NW Gulf look to be in an active pattern. The 2008 analog is a very good match for the 2011 season. ImpactWeather predicts 14/8/4 regarding named storms/Hurricane/Intense Hurricanes. Lower pressures across the Western Basin suggest increased activity.
