Look northwest at what may give SE Texas its next long overdue dose of beneficial rain.

I don't expect any drought relief here until late July or August.

And we all know how that drought relief will likely come by means of something tropical. Congrats on your contest win.

Yes, that's what I'm thinking - TC rain. Still have 10 days to go in May to get over 0.55" of rain in 1 day, so it's not won yet. But I dodged another bullet last evening. And then we have the June, July and August contests. Gets harder to find something to forecast that has many possibilities in the summer. For March, it was predicting the highest and lowest temps at IAH. I was 2 degrees off and won 2 points in March. For April, the challenge was to pick the total rain for the month. I picked 0.71" but someone picked 0.1" and was closest.

Now if we could get a little daytime heating and a trigger, that boundary draped across the northern areas could fire off some storms this afternoon...

Williamson and Burnet County cells look to be weaker now. Grapefruit size hail report is very impressive none the less. I'd expect more reports later on those two storms.
