Is the effect of falling frozen precip strong enough to send surface temps from 35F to freezing or below freezing?

yes, NWS mentioned the possibility of evaporative cooling once the precip starts falling (they said these could be 5-7 degree drops)

When looking at the radar on NWS which should I look at "base" or "Composite" because according to composite I should have precip here but we don't.

Radar echoes are on the increase to our southwest in Ft. Bend County. Good sign that we'll see something tonight. I'm heading to bed soon, though. Hope you all see something tonight. I can wait until morning.
