I hope those calling for 'this to be it' regarding the cold air are correct. The 06Z GFS ensembles do raise an eyebrow, though.

That is a slight possibility srain but not a forecast. Maybe you need to start putting a disclaimer on your posts. :D

Seriously, thanks for keeping us updated over the past week. Much appreciated.

Don't you love it when folks count their chickens before they hatch? Come on guys. There is absolutely nothing that guatantees us our winter is over after next week. If you are looking at long range models to base this statement on.. You said it yourselves... "It is not a forecast." In fact, until Easter passes, it can be quite cold around here.

For what it's worth catagory.

In the meantime... Brrrrr!

Long-range Euro and GFS (beyond next week) indicate a pattern that would be quite mild across much of the U.S. This would be the last third of January, after the 20th. I sure hope so. Time to start thinking about warm spring temps soon! ;-)

Although I don't post very often, I do read/lurk on a daily basis. Even though this event wasn't exactly what we thought it would be, early on...I really, really appreciate all the discussion. It's comforting to know that no matter the day, or time, I can get a pretty dang accurate forecast for our area. Thanks Yall! :)

Easter, this year, is on the 24th of April, just so you know. I do not know about any of you but I sure do not want any freezes during the month of April.

As long as they stay up in Canada where they belong, then that's OK. ;-)

Yep. I'll be spending the night up at IAH with a hair dryer by the instrument shelter.
