Porter had the wind shift a little while ago. I was on the phone and heard the wind kick up. I've not been outside, but the windows glass are cold..

Ditto on the glad it is here. We've all been greatly anticipating this front for some days.

Much excitement..

Good morning. What a change, isn't it!! Temps in the low to mid 40's across most areas and near 50 along the coast and light/moderate rain with breezy N to NW winds...

Image

Clearing should begin later today setting the stage for a chilly night and early Saturday morning. I see HGX isn't buying the widespread freeze as of now. We will see, but some areas may well see their first run at the 32 degree mark of the season. Of course wxman57 is still hoping that December 4th is the date so he can win that office pool.

Just ran outside to get the paper. Low 40s and rain. THIS is better than sunny and 85 degrees? I'll take a 100 degree July afternoon any day over this weather.

If your job is outdoors and requires har physical labor, then yes, this is better than 85*.

And... What's a "paper"? :D

If my job was outdoors and required hard physical labor, I'd call in sick today. And I'd say it's more of a "hot bias". ;-)

At least the temp will be back up in the 60s and 70s this weekend.

Here's the 12Z GFS snow accumulation graphic for the 8th of December. Interesting, but I wouldn't put money on it:

Interesting to see Lake Charles issue Freeze Warnings and Hard Freeze Warnings for extreme SE TX. Perhaps HGX will follow.

We have been at or below freezing for 6 hours in NW Harris with a temp right now of 28 with a light frost. Winds will return off the Gulf today and start a quick warming trend before a cold Pacific front arrives Tuesday.

That's probably coming from rootstock from your grafted orange tree. It likely won't produce, so cut it off.
