Couple that low with cold temps, and we could have a winter precip extravaganza!

Cromagnum you’ll have to wait some time, pattern doesn’t flip back towards cold until the end of the first week of February

Houston will be this Saturday night and sunday night according to NWS, 44 then 40 for a low. After that, probably early February.

There’s a big difference between the Euro and GFS and their ensembles as well. Euro/EPS is much wetter.

Then, I'll have to put down pre-emergence and probably weed killer as well.
Yep, it’s time. I already see some bright green weeds amongst the brown grass. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend…

I believe mcheer said someone would definitely get 10”+ when people started to question the strength of this system.

And when srain chimed in, you knew to pay attention
srainhoutx wrote: Thu Jan 18, 2024 6:43 pm So you folks have a meandering low caught up in a Sub tropical Jetstream pumping in deep tropical moisture from Hawaii in winter. That typically means the possibility of very heavy rain and storms. Don't sleep on this event.

How is the rain chance looking today? I seem to recall some models had one more round coming through.

Not too concerned with the rainfall event to start out February just yet.

Should see some showers between 2pm and midnight. Clears out after that with a gusty north wind.
