As the board slows down a little-bit and we transition from hurricane season to fall and winter I thought it would be a good time to try to do something that I am pretty sure we did on the old weather board. That thing is have a collection of all weather links. It would be fantastic if everyone that has bookmarked links or know of any links that could be useful they could post them here. What I will do with all these links is make a new post in about 1-2 weeks and organize them into categories and make a new post so that anyone who wants to can come back to the thread and find all the links quickly and effectively. Here are a couple of things I ask before you post:
  • 1. Don't post a link to a paid site or one that is inaccessible to the public.
    2. Please put in parenthesis after the link where the link goes too (If it is just a basic satellite or radar loop this is not necessary but if it is not something the public can easily figure out please do this)
    3. This list can have links to weather preparedness, research, etc. Really anything that could help someone in the field of weather.
Anyways here are a couple of my links:

http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/ ( Model Guidance from NOAA)

http://moe.met.fsu.edu/tcgengifs/ ( More models)

http://www.wunderground.com/modelmaps/maps.asp ( Even more models)

http://www.ecmwf.int/products/forecasts ... 9081112!!/ (EURO Model)

http://oiswww.eumetsat.org/IPPS/html/MS ... TATLANTIC/ (Off the Coast of Africa Atlantic Sat)

https://my.sfwmd.gov/portal/page/portal ... netropical (More models but plotted)

http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/tropic/real- ... 8dlm2.html (Steering)

http://www.stormpulse.com/fullscreen/current (Interactive tropical map)

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2008/ (Archived storms)

http://wxcaster.com/gis-gfs-snow-overlays.htm (GFS Snow Overlay)

http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/ewall.html ( A lot of Models, I MEAN A LOT)

http://www.meteo.psu.edu/~gadomski/CMC_12z/cmcloop.html (CMC and other model runs)

http://ready.arl.noaa.gov/READYcmet.php (Plot of models of a certain area)

http://raleighwx.easternuswx.com/ (Probably the best graphical model site)

http://rammb.cira.colostate.edu/ramsdis ... opical.asp (Great Sat)

http://www.boatus.com/hurricanes/tracking.asp (Tracking map for Hurricanes)

https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/wxmap_cgi/index.html (Navy model site)

http://catalog.eol.ucar.edu/predict/ (More hurricane stuff)

Alright that is all I have right now and I hope to see many more posts very soon. Please don't be worried about posting a URL that has already been posted. If you know a URL has already been posted please don't post it again but I will be organizing this again in about 1-2 weeks to a single post so it should be fine if you do. Thanks again. :D

Yea I also have to give Wxman57 a big thank you as a lot of those url's are from him especially tropical. I didn't know he had that website with that information though so I am going to add that to my bookmark collection. :D

I see that the links in the old models page are now dead (http://raleighwx.easternuswx.com/models.html). Let us know when you hear the new site is up.

Just chatted with Allan and the switch has been made, but the new forum was moved overnight to a dedicated server and there are some DNS issues that are being worked on. Hopefully before the day is over, all issues will be repaired and functioning properly.

A nice little site, which is in the process of getting a facelift. This one keeps it kinda simple for everyone to understand weather, with forecasts, WX education, etc... Give it a look-see!

Using it I found that the February 1895 and 1899 Freeze were deep freezes like December 1983 and 1989.
