Some of the most widespread and heavy rain in months is falling where active fires are burning. Beggars can't be choosers. Be grateful that the pattern is slowly changing. Haha.

Front + elevated PWATS remain in the air tonight, tomorrow.

Y'all also need to continue to keep an eye on the southern Gulf, BOC into the start of September.

I was hoping for a water break for one friggin’ day, but no, my post dinner plans consist of watering the back beds and potted plants. Again.

I bet if you waited, you'd get some stratiform rain late this evening.

I actually have. It's sprinkling again. We'll see.

Still not a guarantee, but you better shot is tomorrow on the south side. Then, more scattered storms may return this-coming weekend.

Hmm. Looks like you've been in some light, but steady, rain for the better part of an hours now?

The new NWS radar format is so weird.

Your turn will hopefully come tomorrow. It was always supposed to be that way.

I'm not using the NWS platform - Radarscope.

I'm honestly shocked seeing the readings coming out of parts of Deep Southeast Texas and into Acadiana/Louisiana.

110°F in Lafayette? 109°F in the swamp of New Iberia. 111°F in Orange? Wow.

Even New Orleans managed to smash their record high, now 105°F.

We have had a steady light rain since I last posted...enough to form puddles in the driveway and rain water slowly flowing from the gutters. Very nice and still coming down.

I’m right on the edge of this, keep watching, but it won’t push down. It’s now 10pm and it’s starting to shrink. Not optimistic.

That's what we're having. Maybe 0.1 - 0.2 tenths? Hey, it's wet out there and finally in the 70s.

High of 112°F and then a 30°F drop in 2 hours.
