Impressive outflow just blew in. 40-50 mph winds. Of course that means zero rain now...

Enjoy this rain, because tonight is probably the last time we are going to see rain for at least the next 2 weeks ahead potentially

Thank goodness I don’t work outside anymore. I won’t miss those days.

It will slowly warm up this week. Stay safe. Hydrate. Watch outdoor activities.

3.50” in Beaumont along with trees down, mini hurricane shingle damage and siding damage and golf ball size hail and flooding and still no power. Ill take the rain but could have done without everything else. That was the strongest Ive seen in years of a storm. Time to bake in the upcoming heat. Smh

The heat is coming, but I've noticed the GFS doing some strange things regarding the temps/moisture mixing: recent runs in the farther range (especially the 00z and now 12z) have been showing 110s across the state, and nearby areas ... and they are showing dews dropping down to the 50s, even 40s (which I've never seen before on the Gulf Coast during summer).

I got 1.20” a few days ago but nothing last night except for some lightning way off in the distance. It’s already pretty dry around here. That rain we had was the first rain in 3ish weeks and now probably nothing again for the next 2-3 weeks.

The MDR has by far even more impressive temperature anomalies compared to the Gulf. This could cause storms to strengthen faster and have a much better chance of recurving out to sea.

We’ll see.

I know we got spoiled by an incredibly pleasant May, but this sunny mid-90's late afternoon 75 degrees dew point is terribad. The worst. I just never get used to the sauna. So glad I get to bail out of it on Friday.
