I'm impressed enough. The cold has been outperforming predictions over the last 4 days.

Icon doesn’t include ice and sleet

That’s because it doesn’t include ice and sleet which is mainly what people south of I-10 will see.

I dont understand how that's all we will see when the air will be jist as cold as everywhere else

I’m not sure either, I’m just going off of the models. My guess is that the farther north you go the cold air gets deeper allowing a transition to snow.

I do think Houston will see some snow on the back end of the system though.

Houston is going to see that same transition to snow. It’s in the NWS Special Weather Statement. They’re also suggesting the possibility for even more as we get to Wednesday given how cold things will remain.
