Interesting to see the northern half of Austin/San Antonio's area under the winter weather advisory now. It keeps creeping southward so it is worth keeping an eye on up north sooner than later.

NWSLC just added snow for us Friday night! Wasnt expecting that. Must be for one of the quick moving showers that day. Wow. Snow possible Friday, Saturday night, Sunday, Monday then Wednesday. Am I in Alaska or Beaumont?

we will have deeper than expected cold air. any warm nose will be snuffed out by the upper level cold core shortwave. the air column will cool when precip starts pulling down the colder air of the upper level shortwave.

Lol at NWS forecast high of 51 for Houston on Wednesday. I’ll go with Channel 11 at 36, if not lower.

It would pull in colder deeper air and higher qpf amounts. Meaning we’d get a lot of snow.

in addition to the cold core upper level shortwave low, a surface low will form over the gulf waters throwing wind and moisture into the deeper cold air.

I don’t expect a lot of snow and never have. This has a major sleet storm written all over it with snow at the end.
