Our house flooded (busted hot water heater) since we’ve been holed up at the ranch in Colorado County. I went home to check on things in Magnolia. It was nasty cleaning out the chicken coop.

Glad to see the house getting pounded right now by that cell.

Weird

“Numerous thunderstorms….some severe have rapidly developed over C TX late this morning.

While a strong short wave was expected to cross the region this afternoon in the NW flow aloft, it was expected to be too dry behind last night’s cold front to produce thunderstorms…clearly it is not dry enough and elevated storms have formed. The main threat with these storms will be large hail.

Some of the most reach short range models are starting to pick up on the development and move storms quickly across the area this afternoon…mainly along and just N of I-10.”

Don't you worry. Since it's been so dry, we've scheduled our tractor guy to come out and mow our back lot on Tuesday. Looks like we'll be getting water from that system headed our way today.

A broken line just blew through here. Couple drops of sprinkle and much cooler. Not expecting much in way of beneficial rain.

If you'd like to have a little chuckle, check out today's official forecast for Wixon Valley, and then look at the current radar.

Guys, not even the midweek system is looking good for us. Most of the rain will probably be north and east of us.

Light rain in the swamps of Pearland, too. Looks like it isn't over until it's over, though.

I’m having a hard time understanding how these storms developed today. There’s not even that much humidity or heat around to get anything cranking.
