It looks like what I used to see in Dallas. I don't remember seeing such a mean looking green down here. That is a sign of hail for sure.

Bad wind here in kingwood (probably in the 45-55 mph range) multiple limbs down, and a tree down a few strees to my north.

I was kind of afraid a tornado was gonna drop down on us. Still really bad out there, but it's dark now so it's hard to tell about the sky. No warning though. Kinda surprised.

Luckily the storms are weakening so it won't be as bad.

No rain or storms here yesterday afternoon/evening, but those that were around certainly provided a great light show and some awesome mammatus clouds. Looking mighty wet through at least Wednesday...

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
354 AM CDT SUN JUL 25 2010

.DISCUSSION...
THE UPPER LOW RESPONSIBLE FOR YESTERDAY EVENING`S STORMS IS NOW JUST
TO OUR WEST AND NORTHWEST...AND THIS LOCATION WILL ALLOW DEEP TROPICAL
MOISTURE TO BUILD INTO SOUTHEAST TEXAS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. MODELS
HAVE BEEN PRETTY CONSISTENT IN CALLING FOR HIGHER RAIN CHANCES DURING
THE FIRST HALF OF THE UPCOMING WEEK...SO WITH THIS FORECAST PACKAGE
HAVE RAISED POPS TO LIKELY FOR BOTH MONDAY AND TUESDAY AS PRECIPITABLE
WATER VALUES RISE TO ABOVE TWO INCHES AND PERSIST THERE THROUGH THE
END OF WEDNESDAY. UPPER LOW MOVING ACROSS CENTRAL CUBA EARLY THIS MORNING
COULD END UP ENHANCING/RAISING OUR RAIN CHANCES EVEN MORE ON TUESDAY
AND WEDNESDAY. THROUGH WEDNESDAY...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE.
CANNOT RULE OUT THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME SEVERE STORMS TOO FOR TODAY.
EXPECT LOWER TEMPERATURES WITH THE EXPECTED RAIN CLOUDS AND RAINS THROUGH
MIDWEEK. MODEL CONSISTENCY PERSISTS FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE WEEK
AS THEY BUILD UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE INTO THE AREA. THE RESULT WILL
BE WARMER TEMPERATURES AND ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF MAINLY AFTERNOON
AND EARLY EVENING STORMS BEGINNING ON THURSDAY.

UPDATED RAINFALL STATS THROUGH YESTERDAY SHOW JULY`S IAH TOTAL AT 12.10
INCHES WHICH CURRENTLY RANKS AS THE 4TH WETTEST JULY ON RECORD. THE
WETTEST JULY IS 14.80 INCHES SET IN 1900. HOU`S JULY TOTAL STANDS AT
12.17 INCHES WHICH ALSO CURRENTLY RANKS AS THE 4TH WETTEST JULY ON RECORD.
HOU ONLY NEEDS AN ADDITIONAL 0.80 INCHES TO MAKE 2010 THE 2ND WETTEST
JULY ON RECORD. ANOTHER 5.08 INCHES IS NEEDED TO MOVE JULY 2010 INTO
1ST PLACE.

A few of the overnight dew points across some the area dropped into the mid to upper 60's overnight. Not sure where that drier air advected from, but you're right- it was a welcome change..

Near Westheimer and Mason. We had some really large hail come down, then it quickly turned to pea-sized.

The rain amounts have been so much less in my part of town. My grass is getting crunchy. The other day we were in Bear Creek for a golf tourny and we were slammed with a huge storm dumping lots of rain...Drive home in rain....Get to LaPorte...not even a puddle...Been like this most of July. We had one or two days of heavy rain but really nothing like further inland.......Hopefully we get some rain this week :P

I was on Lake Conroe last evening/night ....that was one awesome light show those storms put on. Only got sprinkles where I was at but the outflow created some nice cool winds. It was refreshing and awesome.

Know what you mean Susie. I might have to get out my umbrella on the full moon and do a rain dance for our part of town. I believe you have actually gotten just a slight bit more than me since we missed that shower you got last week.
