My time in SE Texas comes to end this weekend. I promise that I will remain active around here as much as possible, but here is the WWA hoisted for the new home. All I have to say is it better be good weather for the moving truck to get up the mountain...

I need a bed to sleep in mid next week!

The front barreled through College Station during a 40 min meeting. Temp has dropped 25°F and brisk bluenortherly wind.

TBH, this is a refreshing pause from the long-, hot summer. We have too many high humidity 100°F days in CLL - so I never complain about the colder weather. Gas heat is extremely cheap and I love saving $400+ on Utility bills.

It's when the snow melts on the blacktop, then re-freezes on slopes with curves that's a real issue in the mountains of NC this time of year. Inundation doesn't usually happen until Jan/Feb.

Best of luck with the move! A beautiful area of the country. There's an incredible diversity in species of plants and birds!

From 1992 - 2007 we has 2 ice storms and 1 snow in College Station.

From 2008 - today 7 snows and about 6 icy events. Far more variability with more warm days in Dec, Nov, then few few longer lasting cold blasts in Jan - Mar, but separated by warmer weather usually. The exception was Jan a couple of years ago, with prolonged cold weather.

Just came through Fulshear. Decided I wanted to experience it outside. Went from a very light breeze and shorts weather to very windy and wanting jeans and a jacket in the span of about 60 seconds.

You and I are about as 180 as it gets when it comes to outdoor activities and weather.

Impulses are hitting drya air just about at College Station, by freezing rain, mix is beginning in the Hill Country.

Wintry mischief on Nov 11 would have to be a record in CLL. No guarantee of wintry stuff in the Brazos Valley in any Texas winter. So - Bring it!!

Thank you ALL for the kind words and the encouragement! Please know that I am just changing my geographical location, not my presence around here. I plan on being a part of this weather community for years to come and no worries, everything will continue just as it has over the last decade+. Besides, I suspect I can post some real 'snow pictures" in the not too distant future...
