I don’t know whether to continue being frustrated or just laugh because when rain is around, it’s rained everywhere but my house in the past 5-6 weeks or so. My weather station has .13” since early July.

Here we are today, rain for all!! None for me, yet. Hoping it happens but knowing my luck, the atmosphere will be worked over and I’ll get some clouds and thunder but no rain. Watering the yard continues!

Btw the Euro still looks to be on board with bringing this system back to us a week and a half from now as a Depression or weak tropical storm fwiw.

What would that mean in terms of Dorian who could potentially get to us in in the 10ish day timeframe should it also come this way?

Dorian might not survive the Caribbean and if it crosses over Hispaniola there probably won’t be much left of it cuz the mountains will shred it to pieces.

I think no more rain for Stafford. All the rain appears to be to the north and east of here. Was nice to get some.

I’ve noticed that it likes to rain in the same places. One good rain at your location could change your luck.

The Euro has it. It’s invest 90L (same system that brought us rain this weekend) that circles back around towards us again.

No problem. It looks like the latest GFS run kinda has it too just not as pronounced as the Euro.

The Houston-Galveston NWS mentions next weekend in this afternoon's AFD:

Things become rather muddled by the end of next week and into the
weekend. At this time, it appears a tropical wave or perhaps a
weak area of low pressure will try to organize over the central
Gulf. Too soon to know where this system will track or potential
impacts but we are approaching the peak of the tropical season and
it`s always a good idea to check preparedness plans and remain
prepared.

It shows up a bit better on the GFS ensembles. A few of the 18z ensemble members bring have it stuck under an appliachain/east coast ridge and drive it due west across the gulf. Not sure how much I buy that though.

Pretty good consensus by the models that Dorian or whatever is left of it will get into the gulf. 0z GFS brings the vorticity all the way towards San Luis/Freeport.

Far too early to call anything regarding Dorian.
