Crazy flooding overnight for our neighbors in College Station, Bedias, Navasota and on E into Huntsville and portions of Trinity County. 5-9 inches of rain fell. The strong Fall Front is heading S and has passed Amarillo and is near Lubbock. Freezing rain/drizzle mixed with snow is likely later today. Currently Denver is reporting snow and 20F. It is worth noting that Canada now has more snow on the ground then Siberia and Eurasia! Maybe this is a harbinger of things to come as Winter approaches. We will see.

Right now it appears the heaviest rainfall will be across S Central and portions of N and NE Texas. The 850mb front likely will hang up around Austin/San Antonio, but the shallow surface front should clear all of SE Texas including you folks in the Beaumont area. Brisk Northerly winds and falling temperatures and dewpoints will filter in post frontal passage. Not too sure we will clear out this coming work week. It may take until next weekend when another reinforcing cold front arrives to clear the pesky light rain/drizzle out. I do not see any warming trend of significance in the extended range at this time. It looks like Fall has arrived in Texas. Current observation from Dalhart 34F with light snow and very gusty N winds up to just shy of 50 MPH while it is a balmy 85F in Brownville.

STill amazes me the temperature difference Texas can have during transition of seasons. Currently 34 degrees in Amarillo while here in Beaumont we sit currently at 85. North half is Winter and southern half still summer. Amazing. Am hoping for a few wintery mischiefs this year. Last winter was awesome. We received snow 3 times last winter here in Beaumont. Have a great Sunday everyone. Enjoy the much cooler weather tomorrow!

Double checking my rain gauge with local reporting, but it looks like 5.4 in IMBY last night. A fierce, long lasting deluge.

25 mph winds gusting to 35 mph

After today, our local forecast doesn't hit 60°F until Thursday with the overrun...after a projected high of 87°F today. Whoa.

I've put down 2 doses of fungicide in the front already...and it's holding its own there. Have 1 more bag left. I may only hit some spots in the back that already have significant brown patch spots... but the goals is to preserve that look of green late April and early October for a few more weeks in the front...they are about the only times of the year in the Brazos Valley where everything is green! Summer is chinch bug season and mid-October ushers in major brown patch.

This week with the wet, cold overrunning is going to cause a brown patch explosion.

The front blasted through Marlin and is closing in on Hearne. Brisk NW winds.

We should see the wind shift in CLL before 1 am.

Kerrville to RoundRock to Cameron - the front is approaching the HGX area rapidly.
