So nothing overnight, but the sun is out heating things up, and no giant blobs south of Freeport-GLS to ruin it for us.

Larry Cosgrove just posted this on FB:

http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/so ... s_loop.php

It is called an MCS (Mesoscale Convective System). And it is headed into the Interstate 10 corridor between San Antonio and Houston.

Note the intense rain bandings along the coastl...ines which appear to be gathered about a small comma head center. That is a vorticity maximum of sorts, with an enhanced burst of strong vertical velocities along the coastal front. Severe thunderstorms, flooding rains and even a few funnels are likely as the impulse moves north-northeast through this afternoon. I suspect this type of banding will reform along the US 59/Interstate 60 arc from Kingwood/Humble into the Corpus Christi metro this evening, so Bill Alexander may be in for a rough time from flooding threats.

And yes, the severe thunderstorm crown almost assuredly goes to much of Kansas through tonight. More on that a bit later....

Hi guys...any new update discussions on the unfolding weather? Seems things are really struggling to get started today. Atleast here in the BPT area.

WHOA that was some kinda fun down here by the bay - I live close to KEMAH....
Made up for the last couple of days of sitting on the sideline waiting for rain.

We're fine here - watched it all pass us by but I guessed San Leon with the way it was going.

Hope it calms down now. Enough fun for the day :D
hope everyone is safe.

Will the greatest chance for strong to severe t-storms & heavy rains be closer to the coast on Friday, just like it was today?

It was another wet and wild day for me. .24 inches in my backyard! Glad all of you good people on the bay got some of the goodness today even though it was rather wild out there for a bit. It has been a very interesting weather month!
