Light Rain, Sleet, and micro-flurries mixing in Dickinson. Heavier echos coming over top shortly, hoping for some sleet to dust us a little.

I dont see any moisture left on the roads tonight. Anti-ice chemical has worked its magic today thus far

*Sigh* Another snow day with zero ice\icicles\snow on the ground here in Spring. If we have to make up a day in April or May I sure wish we could have had *something* to look at\play in. So...is there another one of these Snowpocalypses in our Feb forecast?

Are the surface roads freezing? Or will they freeze today before 5/6 PM?

I have been watching that myself. I do have my doubt about it getting here though. The drier air may be here before the precip makes it.

Light snow reported at IAH. Maybe an official trace of snow for the date?

Mixture of light snow and sleet still at Hobby airport. No accumulations on anything above ground here, except for some sleet buildup on some windshields there and there.

Heavier band now moving into the Beaumont area, still heavy sleeting with flurries becoming more pronounced!

Models still show NOLA getting at least a half inch of precip but it doesn't look like the precip is there on the radar currently at least. Can someone tell me if more is supposed to form over Louisiana?

Winter advisory keeps getting extending. I wonder what the HGX office will say after seeing the moisture out west starting to build. Should be an interesting discussion.

Edit: Guess they don't think nothing of it.

Looks like that "blob" of moisture has just exploded over the Golden Triangle! Right now its the heaviest sleeting Ive seen so far, more than Fridays event. Snow flurries are now everywhere in the BPT area! I-10 Interstate has grown eerily quiet. Im use to all the highway noise. Many school closures are now coming into the local media (Bmt area) for closures tomorrow. We will NOT reach above freezing today according to our local mets, which in turn has prompted many closures for tomorrow as well. Stay tuned! I have a feeling the best has yet to come for the Bmt area!!

Update from Jeff:

NWS has extended the Winter Weather Advisory until 400pm for the following counties for all areas south of I-10.

Band of mixed precipitation ongoing along and south of a line from Austin to The Woodlands to north of Liberty. Various P-types have been reported across the area with snow and sleet accumulation across northern Harris County mainly on elevated surfaces and ice accumulation at many areas north of US 59.

Freezing line has progressed likely about as far south as it is going to…although fairly heavy radar returns over Galveston and SE Harris into Chambers County could help continue the evaporative process and bring locations closer to Galveston Bay to near freezing. Much of this is falling as a mix of freezing rain and sleet per reports from Pearland and Friendswood.

Icing on bridges and overpasses continues in patches mainly north of I-10 across much of the area, but the combined efforts of road crews and anti-ice agent it keeping most bridges passable. With that said caution should be used on all bridges and overpasses through today.
