Showers and thunderstorms really starting to erupt out west moving east.

I can't believe it. It's going to rain in Houston. And, all it took is a suprise meso event to do it...

I never saw a tornado warning issued out of EWX. Any other info on that?

Nothing else. Media reported it to EWX, however they've never commented on it. The report came from law enforcement in that county...

I'm not seeing any outstanding velocities in the line, however the line is entering 'no-mans land' (in between the two radars.)

Looks like those storms are finally on the move eastward. Hope we see a good bit of rain out of this.

Radar suggesting .75" hail just west of Columbus.

Tyler, EWX mentions no tornado in their just released storm report (although they did report a funnel cloud in Bexar County.) They must have dismissed the report.

Thanks for the info, Dan! I was curious as I didn't see any signs of rotation on the radar...

BTW, it looks like these storms may actually make it here. Scattered activity also picking up on the west side of town ahead of the main system.

I also noticed that the radar has become much more active in the past few hours. Yes, some of those thunderstorms are not that far from the Houston Metroplex area and the other cities surrounding it.

On KHOU's Dopplar Radar, I saw a few green boxes, some red boxes, and some magenta boxes. Do you know what those symbolize?

They really do need a legend on those maps. In this case- red is severe thunderstorm warnings and purple tornado warnings.

The storms ignited along and near a stationary front in central Texas and carried eastward by minor disturbances in the upper flow. The lack of a cap is also a big plus for us.
