Was it ever truly separated from that front? The weather from the coast inland is overcast with foggy and drizzle with sun to the south east. Subtropical feel to it with isentropic lift inland.

Indeed. And if a core can stay intact as it moves over as a depression, we may have a shot at some decent rains tomorrow night into Wednesday morning. The path of the core is going to matter a lot and it may be feast or famine for some though. We'll just have to see how it plays out on the mesoscale. It's almost impossible to predict.

A whole lot of nothing for Beaumont. Breezy but thats it. We are stuck in between bands in the dry slot. We may not see any rain till tomorrow. Strange to see that Louisiana may be the ones to get the most rain from Beta than Texas possibly. Was hoping to get some beneficial rain as my yard is starting to crack. Stay safe coastal friends!

All that sun in the Gulf is going to create some heat and additional instability with that dry air mixing-in. This is actually quite an unusual setup and we could see some pretty intense convective bands set-up later today.

Interesting to note the dry air infiltration. Notice the gaps between the bands of rain. Folks are actually getting rain in the outer bands way out from the center., while many in between are getting nothing. The areas getting nothing should fill in somewhat later on.

In other news, and a future possible topic. The system heading west currently around Florida. Let's of course stay on topic for now. I am not trying to derail the conversation.

Yeah us in Bmt are in between bands and the sun is actually out for a bit now. Hoping it fills in some later as someone stated. At this point, all I want is some beneficial rain...

Question. What would happen if this storm makes landfall then back out over water going east like a few of the models suggesting. Will it stay weak or have a chance to strengthen? Im sure rain would increase with the gulf tap but curious if it would remain TS or what if stayed over water into SELA. TIA

Almost all models are coming into agreement with the GFS and a stall just inland or drifting back offshore before slowly lifting out either Wednesday or Thursday.
