Yep that cold air has a one way ticket to mexico, if we can get a coastal low to develop, oh baby we are in business! Lots to watch
I think you’re onto something…MontgomeryCoWx wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:36 pmWhich is why I think Hou metro probably sees a ice storm in a set up like this. Colder air, SE ridge, yup, sleet and freezing rain.
My general area and west towards SA and Austin would probably be far enough removed from the ridge for significant snow, and DocMu certainly would.
I am on the lookout for a potential ice storm along the coast and piney woods next round. Sometimes you just see those cards on the table before they’re turned.

Euro brings a mixed bag to us.Brazoriatx979 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:28 pm I know it's far away but damn wouldn't it suck if north texas got the goods again
If the ICON didn’t stop at 240 it would push a mix to us in the next frame or two.
This set up definitely would spin up a coastal low further off the coast with this front but with the SE ridge most of the precip would be sleet with maybe a finishing burst of snow.

Pow Ponder mentioned the PNA going negative this time in his video this morning regarding the front that’s coming.

Is this air going to be stout enough to push all the way in the gulf or mexico to even have to coastal areas below freezing for ice or whatever it may be if anything at all

This air is coming from eastern siberia, one of the coldest regions on the planet, cold air wont be an issue down here lol
Due to the orientation of the EPO, it’ll grab air from eastern Siberia and it’ll pool it into our source region in western Canada. Things look promising, at least for some big cold.Brazoriatx979 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:58 pm Is this air going to be stout enough to push all the way in the gulf or mexico to even have to coastal areas below freezing for ice or whatever it may be if anything at all
