I just drove through that and my wife caught the tornado touching down in waller about a mile east of 290.

When we get to Fredericksburg I’ll see if I can host the video. I was geeked out and she was.... concerned.

Y’all this setup has me extremely concerned. These cells are getting good inflow and you can just see the instability pockets on radar and satellite loops. My God....I can’t believe there isn’t a watch for this.

Sometimes, and this is probably one of those times, "now-casting" is the best that can be done, rather than forecasting. Srain gave some timing on those cells south of Sealy. But if that's not your area, you just have to ride along until it is your area.

For those watching the cell to the north, you can actually pull it up on TIAH radar and see it pretty well. Seeing some good overall rotation with that one too.

agree - being understaffed is not a local NWS choice, I'm sure
There was a conference call between the WFO and SPC and a Mesoscale Discussion was issued shortly after noon. The quick spin up nature and apparently a small geographic area led to the decision to not issue a Watch with the low 20% chance per the MD. Multiple forecasters are currently working the event/episode.

Those two t-storms, the one north of town and the other just south of the Katy freeway seem to be long-lived storms, and kicking up a lot of trouble as they head eastward. I think the one west of town just south of I-10 started west of Flatonia this morning and is still going.
