In Robstown, just west of Corpus, and at noon I witnessed a wind direction shift from 358 degrees to 271 degrees and it's windier. No rain, not as cloudy with blue skies to the west.

a picture paints a thousand words - here's long-range radar from Houston. Sugarland is to the southwest, which may be in a dry slot right now, but I wouldn't expect that to last

That is what I was worried about. I knew I could get to work, but was worried about getting home.

Many thanks to all the folks on this forum that keep us informed! We each have to make our own decisions. My husband scoffed at me for staying home, but I made the decision I thought best for me. If I went in, I would be worrying and wondering and itching to leave.

Both satellite and radar indicate that Bill is on the most outer edge of the East coast ridging which is resulting in a nearly stalled system. This is concerning for the Houston location since a line of very heavy rain remains just north of the region and will slowly push through as we head into the day.
