Lmao you love to see it! Next time don't be so cocky!
S2K always gets their panties in a wad when they don't get their way in Dallas.

Be nice folks, we’re still fellow Texans and weather enthusiasts with many of the same members
NGL this whole thing is going about exactly as I expected it to. I never expected more than a cold rain down here, snow up towards DFW and a transition zone of mess with the warm nose.
I don’t think I saw a single model run with the 540 thickness line south of DFW. Tell tale….

Completely agree! And yeah, that’s why I’ve been bringing up the 540 line on here. It’s very important if you want snow.jasons2k wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 7:50 am Be nice folks, we’re still fellow Texans and weather enthusiasts with many of the same members

Wintry mix is now in the NOAA forecast. We're on the edge of the transition zone as expected.

NAM 12z tries to bring in some snow across portions of se texas on the back edge of the system
The NAM has been trending towards bringing in some wintry weather the past couple runs. At least for northern SE TX.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 8:47 am NAM 12z tries to bring in some snow across portions of se texas on the back edge of the system

Cpv17 06z Euro also tries to bring snow into portions of se texas , if the system can slow down a bit more like what the NAM/ Euro hint at as precipitation starts thursday going friday, Friday morning their might be a fresh surge of colder air that could get in to change over some of the rain to snow down here, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to see some flakes flying across se texas, almost always a surprise with these events even when cold rain is forecasted
It is a very dynamic system so a quick burst of snow on the backside would not surprise me. But we definitely won’t be in the “zone” for most of the time while precip is still around. Too warm and too far south.
Yes. There is your tongue of warm pacific air at the mid levels spoiling the party. On the backside the tongue has moved east. It's all about timing on Thursday morning on any backside wintry mix. Freezing rain, sleet could occur before 9 am. We'll see.

DoctorMu yup its all about timing, but definitely think we do have a small window of opportunity
It doesn’t really look like the precip kicks off till around noon on Thursday.
Just wondering. Is it looking likely or not likely we might get some winter precip Thursday morning or noonish. I’m asking because I am the lead instructor at a private school, and I know parents will be asking me if we will have class Thursday. Especially when they pick up their children today. Thanks!
Not likely. Maybe early Friday.sambucol wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 10:40 am Just wondering. Is it looking likely or not likely we might get some winter precip Thursday morning or noonish.
