Advection getting cranked up here. Loving it. Can finally turn the A/C OFF.
Thought about heading to Big Bend tomorrow, but auto trouble. The northerly winds would have been buffeting the van anyway.
Would not be surprised to see overperformance on the cold. We're already down into the 50s after 80s this afternoon. Skies cleared more quickly that expected.

Ah, cool air just started here! Wind picking up sharply as well.
How was there zero precipitation with this front? Hot pea soup out in front and strong cold line hitting it. Seems like it would wring water out of the atmosphere.

Lol 30 degrees here with 20 mph wind gusts, I beg to differ lol
Woke up to 29* this morning in Fairfield Cypess. That’s about 4-5* cooler than forecasted.
We beat Conroe, currently at 28°F. We are clear here and are on full tilt advection. Conroe is overcast,
When I saw the temps yesterday, I knew the forecast was going to bust. I think most of us did. They still held onto that low of 33 though, and sure enough, when I woke-up, it was 30 degrees with ice on my patio furniture. It was too windy to cover anything anyway, but I am glad I already drained my backflow. A few of the tropical shrubs will freeze back but the new palm garden 2.0 will laugh at the cold fronts now. So far, I have 5 mule palms and 3 windmill palms. We're ready.
These shallow arctic air masses tend to always over perform...

I hope this cold spell is the start of a colder pattern and not just back to a warm pattern
