It's 24 degrees right now in Katy. Did anyone realize it was going to be this cold this fast with this weather system? I don't remember dropping immediately into the 20's last week and I wonder how cold it will be tonight if it is 24 here and the sun is out!!

Geez, it's cold! I was concerned about all of this (colder temps) when I saw negative readings in the Panhandle late yesterday. This could be the coldest night for me yet, even colder than last year's 19F at this rate.

And I thought after surviving last week this week was going to be easy - yikes!

I was out about an hour ago doing final preps and there were still a few flurries flying around, but it was light. Slowly clearing out here now.

PS - the philodendrons can be saved. As a last resort, cut all the leaves and wrap the trunks.

The current temperature here in Baytown is 30ºF with a wind chill that makes the actual temperature of the air feel like 18ºF

Ok guys i have 2 inches of snow here in ne louisiana went out and about and have about a dozen or so pics ill post later,at one point visibility dropped id say to less than a quarter mile due to heavy snow....am cooking a big pot of chili atm great meal for this weather gonna be 19 degrees here tonight.

I'm not so sure we will clear tonight. Sure seems to be a lot of cloudiness moving in from Mexico. Is that all high clouds or are we seeing something with moisture content(for lack of better words) moving in?

looks like some type of EPAC impulse moving up...those arent high clouds either.

if precip starts to show up on the radar in south west texas and head this way i will literally go crazy

That wasn't in the forecast either was it? Mother Nature is just laughing at us now.

That is what I was thinking Paul. I just wanted someone to confirm it for me.
Julie, you can bet Mother nature is hee-hawing at us right now.
If HGX is correct that may keep the temps up a little tonight from what it was looking like we might get to. Seems to have settled right around 26f attm.
