Yes, mid to late January could be interesting. Not sure about February. It’ll depend a lot on the MJO.vci_guy2003 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 9:03 am What about the rest of January and February ? Any more chances ?

Yup. I was just talking about that a couple of days ago. Sometimes I wonder how anyone could be so off. The beast of cold like no other all the way to central America LOL At least this time it became pretty obvious way ahead of time. Hmmm

I'm already over it honestly lol cpl days of cold weather big deal..next
Yes, even by Monday we won’t for sure know yet. It’s still a bit too early to write things completely off. Models are showing 1-3” of QPF across our area with temps in the mid to upper 30’s. Imagine if it was just a few degrees colder. We would be looking at a historical event. I wouldn’t give up hope quite yet. We’ll have to monitor trends and see what the mesoscale models have for temps as they come into range. By Wednesday morning we should have a definitive answer.
Did yall forget that Beryl hit us already? It's going to snow.

Still have plenty of time.. moisture is there just need to see how snow pack is and how bad models are missing the shallow air
If this pans out, looks like I'll be working from home the 2nd half of the week.

Id rather have it be 105 degrees than 40’s and cold rain, the cold with just rain is wasted cold

A boss of mine once said if we have active hurricane season, a cold winter with surprises usually follows. Case in point in point, winter following Harvey. (I think). Can’t remember the hurricane season preceding snow event of 2021. 2024 hurricane season was very active. I’m expecting a cold surprise winter - including snow.

Nws service has a high of 50 for me Tuesday lol come on mam
There could be a heavy rain event setting up for SE Texas if the coastal low decides to move along the coast or inland like the Euro shows.
