Will need to monitor next shortwave rotating around the base of the trough near Del Rio. Back building thunderstorms to our West in San Antonio and a bit further W towards the Edwards Plateau is moving generally Eastward along the stalled boundary.

Does it look like the line has slowed its progression southward? Kinda worried this may be a similar event that our friends North of I-10 have experienced.

Front flank squall line is progressing ESE towards Chambers County, BUT becoming increasingly concerned with strengthening development to our West along the I-10 Corridor back to near Kerrville with the next approaching shortwave.

Very concerned about the metro region too. Progression has slowed a bit and strong inflow from the south.

Any chance of this filling in to the south? From Pearland southward not much of anything has happened.

Playing catch up. Latest from Jeff:

THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION

Rainfall last 12-hrs of 10-15 inches over NW Harris County leading to very significant flash flood event. Numerous reports of house flooding from at least 40 different subdivisions from both rainfall and channels. Many homes are flooding that have likely not flooded before based on channel water levels in the Addicks watershed.

Major flooding (structures)

Greens Bayou
White Oak Bayou
Cypress Creek
Horsepen Creek
Langham Creek
South Mayde Creek
Bear Creek
Little Cypress Creek
Willow Creek
Spring Creek
Halls Bayou

Tremendous number of calls requesting water rescue from many different areas.

Forecast:
Catastrophic training event refuses to end with new development to the west which may come up over already hard hit areas of Waller and N Harris County. Storm totals for 12-18 hours could push 15-20 inches.

neighbor tried getting to 290 via Barker Cypress from Huffmeister direction, water up to the running boards on his F-250, cars parked, stalled all over, turned around and came back, before reaching 290 - his advice "don't even try it"

I would strongly suggest not going anywhere this morning. This is not worth risking your life or property over.
