February 1-5, 2011 Arctic Blast/Winter Storm Discussion
Has anyone seen soundings from this morning? Is it looking more like a NAM solution (sadly, sadly, sadly)...as in maybe an inch?
Is there actually sleet/snow or freezing rain falling over chambers county to the east? Any reports?

Another reminder, folks. If you haven’t already, please go to your User Control Panel and update your profile to include your general location. This will assist our Pro Mets concerning any observation reports you may give and will assist them in passing along that information to others and updating their forecasts.

It's been a few years since I last posted, but decided to return here to KHOU for a few days for this fun little event.
Checking in here from the capital city for the central TX angle to report that angle since we might see some snow move in before SE TX.

The temp at my house is 27 right now which is warmer than the 21 yesterday morning at this time .... however it feels colder outside now than it did yesterday which is a true sign that the moisture level is on the rise. I mean ... that's some bone chilling cold I'm feeling this morning.

I've seen it several times now - and just have to ask - what does HGX stand for?

Temp is down up here to 25.0F. It was 26.4 when I got up this morning. That wind is mighty chilly and a virga band is overhead at this time.
