I’m also wondering about this, but then again they do get more precipitation than we do.
They are further away from the Mexican deserts. Then again in February 1895, Houston area got 2 feet of snow. Louisiana and Florida have not recorded 2 feet of snow, including the 1895 event.

Keeping in mind this is an extended look. We are not done with below normal temps. Believe it or not, we are not done with the snow either.

More in the coming days.

Agree. I still feel we will get an ice storm before February is over.

The polar vortex won't be gone for long.

📉 Watch what happens during the second week of February:

I’m almost positive the bears are watching.

I can bear-ly take this boring, cloudy weather.

Canadian brings home of a more arctic front around Feb 7/8.

Yeah winter is definitely over in february, definitely not looking good for any real cold intrusions, se ridge taking over, troughing in alaska, game over for winter lovers, it was fun while it lasted

Completely agree with Stratton. I’ve been watching things closely since my last post and looks like we are done, at least with any arctic fronts or wintry precipitation.

Agreed. Data from today suggests that IF we get another cold snap it will be very short lived. I see absolutely no reason to believe this is not accurate. Sorry, folks, but we are about to set up for Spring. If you want more cold and snow you will have to go elsewhere.

Welcome to weather reality. Anything that suggests a double punch of winter weather around here has to be extremely suspect.
