Heck of a commute this evening. It just took well over an hour and a half to get from the Medical Center to NW Harris County. Stay safe everyone and enjoy the fairly wide spread rains.

I live in Baytown and and saw some very impressive bolts of lightning. The wind was also getting strong there for a moment. Wow, that is all I have to say.

Rain, wind, thunder and lightning here at the house and driving from downtown down I-10 to Mont Belvieu. Have power at the house but looks like another storm formed and heading south.

Fulshear getting soaked. There was even a little bit of hail on my way home.

I know this because it was hitting me in the face. (Jeep + no windows = soggy but fantastic commute.)

Incredible light show, but not much more rain here. Sure missing a good chance to give a good soaking.

Our power has been out for a few hours now. Lots of Oak Ridge, Woodlands, and Imperial Oaks with no power. Good excuse to head to Guadalajara for some good food and a margarita. Saw a transformer explode and a fuse on fire on the way near the Shell station at 45 and Rayford.

Ran into the first storm in SW Houston on Hillcroft around 4:30pm. Pea to marble sized hail, strong wind and heavy rain. Measured 0.71" from the first storm. Main line split when it approached my house so I only got a little over a half inch additional rain. Total of around 1.25". But that makes 3.3" for September, which is greater than the rain I measured from late January through August total.

Exactly 1.00" here. Power is still out though. Reminds me of Ike with the candles and all...

Man, my office is on the feeder road up from Rayford in Brookhaven Business Park. I bet the power is out over there. Ok, I got a good storm at my house so I will shut up with my complaining...for now. :D I sure was glad to get it. Now I can look forward to the cool front tomorrow since we got some rain before hand.

Looks like a nice solid line of severe storms pushing south out of Dallas which looks to be associated with the cool front. We got worked over pretty good today but it would be nice to see another bout of showers/storms move through with the front.

Also the Dallas office is still mentioning this significant pattern change later on in the forecast period?

A
DEEP TROUGH WILL DIG INTO THE PACIFIC WEST COAST LATE NEXT WEEK
AND SLOWLY PROGRESS EAST INTO THE PLAINS BY NEXT WEEKEND. THIS
TROUGH IS A SIGNIFICANT PATTERN CHANGE AND COULD BRING A CHANCE
FOR RAIN TO NORTH TEXAS. HOWEVER...THIS PATTERN CHANGE IS BEYOND
THE PERIOD OF THE FORECAST AND THE FORECAST REMAINS DRY AFTER
TONIGHT.

Well it's spotty. My whole section of Imperial Oaks is out, but the section a few streets down is on. Oak Ridge is pitch black. The Woodlands along 45 and south of Woodlands Pkwy is out; north of there it is on. We ate at Guadalajara and the power was on there. Since it's spotty I had hoped it would be on by now. It's nice and cool outside but there is no breeze whatsoever. All the windows are open but it's still stifling hot inside.
