That wind is no joke out there. Gusting to 30 mph.
Only 10mph down here.

There is just no acclimating to this miserable weather. It's physically painful to be out in this crap after a short duration.

True. The rain chances showing up for Monday and especially Tuesday, while super spotty, will be truly welcome for those that manage to get hit.

Afterward, we'll need the high to do whatever the current 12z GFS and Euro are doing to ensure better chances next weekend onward.

I spend a lot of time outdoors - less these days - but I am getting more acclimated to it actually. After about 10 minutes and getting past the initial shock, it just feels like a hot day if you can stay hydrated and take breaks in the A/C. Also, it helps if you just accept it ahead of time that a shower will be needed.

That’s pretty much me, I just accept it and If I’m going outside, I do as much as I can while out there. Basically, prepare to be out there and then shower after.

Same here. I’ve worked in the heat for many years. I can actually get acclimated to it easier than I can the cold.

I can take highs in the 30’s if there’s not a lot of wind. I actually get hot when I’m working pretty easily. If I'm working outside I’d prefer it to be in the 50’s. That’s the perfect temps to work in imo.

A single light freeze can do lots of damage to tropical plants/landscaping, let alone the teens experienced in Dec 2022 and Feb 2021.

In contrast, a single 100°F day doesn't do much (if anything). It's only when you prolong those triple digits AND ALSO take away the rain (like this year and much of 2022's summer), and that's when the issues begin.

Please please say we have a mild tropical storm coming our way soon. Ill take it with no complaints. Anything to gets these temps down and some rain for Texas.

Nothing stirring in the gulf right now or in the next 7 days, i would gladly take a tropical storm right now as well, but with all of that available energy in the gulf, im not betting on something being weak if it heads our way

I would have to agree 100%. Those gulf temps will be like rocket fuel for anything that forms. Although running out of time quick too. Maybe thats best.

I wouldn’t say it’s running out of time. Peak season for Texas are the months of August and September. We still have September to go. When October arrives, as for me, I’ll feel better, but still won’t let my guard down.

We FINALLY saw some rain today...

...but I had to drive into NE Oklahoma and SW Missouri to find it.

The ridge flips to the NE after the 20th on Ensembles, GFS, CMC.

The Gulf opens up. GFS threw in their proverbial CAT2-3 Gulf hurricane around the 25th.

Those Yankee assholes deserve a scorching end to the Summer. They’ve been hogging our rain. ;)

LOL, normal still sucks, but I’ll take it.

I sat in the bleachers for a football scrimmage the other day when it was 106. I had soaked ice towels all over me.
