Still light freezing rain in Bridge City right now. Coming in was easy. Going home might be different. Plan on going home at lunchtime.

I'm sticking to my guns and going with the original CMC. I think the models can not be trusted. especially with a storm coming from where it is. I think it's gonna snow like crazy along and north of harris/Montgomery border tomorrow afternoon on top of a glaze of ice and a bit of sleet. but I'm just guessing like everyone else and I have nothing to back it up."

.....................I'm still sticking with my guns.

I have been lurking for around 5 years and decided to finally sign up.

Mainly to say thanks to all of y'all for being a great source of information during these times.

I am in The Woodlands three miles off 45.

We are steadily dropping. When I woke up around 6:20 our temp was at 31.8. It is now saying 29.1. Rain is steady and our Magnolia is already accumulating ice.

Thanks again for having this resource here, and I appreciate the information.

If the precip is heavy enough, absolutely.

Will the air aloft start cooling significantly before the onset of potentially more/intense precip? If so....snow flurries still a chance?

Edit to add: down to 31.8 degrees in NW Harris....

Starting to see a few flurries floating down with the sleet. There's hope, yet! :)

A little late...but Update from Jeff:

Precipitation increasing across the region.

Getting reports of sleet in Cypress and The Woodlands with surface temperature now down to 34 at Tomball and IAH. This is an 8 degree drop in the last few hours. Conroe is down to 30 and College Station 29. Low level air mass near/north of I-10 is starting to reach saturation allowing better precipitation to reach the ground. Should see freezing temperatures across all areas north of I-10 within the next 1-2 hours which will match well with the onset of heavier precipitation.

Looking at road temperatures, they are running about 1-2 degrees above the air temperature, so do not expect icing of bridges and overpasses until surface temperature falls to about 30-31 degrees.

I'm so annoyed right now - my wife decided to go to work since the warning was dropped to an advisory, the STAR vans are now going. She's afraid she's going to be stuck at the Medical Center. Why they actively decided to lower the warning just before the event baffles me. I know it's a tough call, but I think they should have stuck to their first decision.

air temp 31 dewpoint 26 already have a solid layer of ice and not even close to saturated

although, I have a nice burst of moisture building to my SW so that won't last long. this is great. everyone enjoy this. So sorry for everyone who traveled.
