my cousin said the forecasters said no ice and everyone went to work and now there are accidents everywhere. this is awful. everyone realize how bad this is right now

I am at I-45 and Rayford Sawdust and I can confirm freezing rain and sleet accumulating on surfaces

I bet at the onset of precip, that very dry wind and evaporational cooling had a field day with surface temps. I mean, actual surfaces

my cousin in Smithville said there have been over 90 wrecks reported in the last hour and that freezing rain has changed to all sleet
she also said that their local OAM told them it would be safe to go to work

32F now with sleet and rain in NW Harris County. Intensity has increased a bit now with more sleet than rain.

Heavy sleeting happening now here in Beaumont. Temp currently here is 26.5 and we look o have much more on the way by looking at NWS radar loop!

sounds to me things are about to get bad. see all that moisture flare up in west Texas. is really going to end this afternoon?

Still 32.3 degrees. Dewpoint up to 26 from 20. Will we go lower than 32?
