HRRR is your friend.

https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysi ... 2216&fh=17
Notice the temps are colder in southern Kentucky into Tennessee than it is Northern Oklahoma. While the cold air is spilling down because it's so cold and dense, the main thrust is to the SE.
????

It's 2°F in OKC. 46°F in Lexington currently. If your argument is that even HRRR is blowing it, agreed. By tomorrow, there should be cold air moving to the east.
I was just referring to the image you posted, for 09z 12/23.

-1 in Oklahoma, -7 in Kentucky, at the same latitude.

I see nothing in our 2 week future that has overly warm or cold. It’s pretty seasonal.

Sprinkles and a bit of drizzle out here in the Katy area, so those returns are juuuust barely making to ground level.

Would’ve been nuts to have a bit more moisture in place.

Don’t quite see front on the KIAH terminal radar (hopefully it’ll get picked up on approach).

I posted a link to HRRR not an image. They are overestimating the low tonight in OKC. Anyway, the cold is moving in here as it moves down the eastern slope of the Rockies as MoCo and I predicted... then eastward tomorrow. We'll look for lows tonight in OKC vs. lows tomorrow night in Nashville for a reasonable comparison.

Yeah you never want to see that. But supposedly there’s a cyclone near Darwin. So that would make sense.

haha, NWS now progging a 13°F low locally. X-mas decorations outside are secure. Oh, good - maybe the leaves will blow out of my yard and back into our neighbors where they belong.

Calm with a bit of drizzly drop up here in Coldspring now. Feels like it’s on it’s way.

The airmass has modified quite a bit on its way south. A better snowpack would’ve put a lot of us in the single digits.

51°F down to 30°F in an hour here and heading for the 20s then teens. The coldest December air I've seen in 30 years in Texas. I'd hate to see it if it wasn't modifying!

That's good IMO i wouldn't want it to be any colder than it already is.

Right! Mid teens with 0°F wind chill is plenty cold.
