FROPA has blasted through. Windy and clearing conditions as temps sag into the 60s. Tomorrow will be beautiful, sunny with seasonable conditions.
After that, we're screwed on Holiday weather conditions are a week as U Miami brings their more summer like weather to SETX.
Only AIGFS brings any relief in the New Year.

Of the Ensembles - GEPS has the cold air shift westward in the new year. We get the scraps, but good enough. Summer returns with a vengeance Saturday in time for kickoff.

I remember when some folks were saying December looks pretty cold, back in November.. Please, nobody say January looks pretty cold.

AI GFS debuts with a jailbreak of dense, cold Canadian air about Jan 3rd and EC-AIFS follows suit. There is a glimmer of hope.
Gird thy loins re: parent GFS - where the the 500mb height anomaly is brutal (ridging) except for an ULL sweeping through around the 29th.

Got down to 38 last night. It was supposed to be 44. Pretty big bust on the numbers there.

Only CMC (29th) shows a cold front before Jan 4 now.
The Big Winter Suck begins tomorrow.
Enjoy today!

I’ll be enjoying the weather for the foreseeable future.
Time to pull some weeds, put down some mulch, and fire up the Green Egg.

ensembles are looking slightly more encouraging in early january, at least with the 500 mb height pattern , need to see more eastward shifts in the north pacific ridge, but it is trending closer to alaska on ensembles , CMC/ Euro runs this afternoon were interesting if you ask me

Return flow has started but our DP = 25°F. Will savor the waning hours of the afternoon. 60s for lows for 7-10 days beginning tomorrow. 40s and 50s for lows in Gainesville, FL.
12z for those model obsessed:
Euro brings in seasonable conditions beginning the 29th. Even TWC does.
GFS brings in a FROPA 3/4, but the cold air moves rapidly east.
AI GFS finally brings cooler air on the 4th, with cold air lodging in the west.
CMC right now is our only true friend.
10 days out, there's no agreement on whether the ridge will be west or east.
Bottom line on a sensible forecast. Nice today. Hot tomorrow - the New Year with seasonable temps after that.

I replanted my Ti-plants as I’m not expecting another freeze until after the holidays.
The first three months of 2026 look warm.
